The classic thriller Psycho turns 60 years old this year, and Fandango is celebrating the anniversary with a special deal on select Alfred Hitchcock favorites. For the first time, “Psycho,” “The Birds,” “Vertigo” and “Rear Window” are available to stream in 4K UHD on FandangoNOW and Vudu, and available to buy for a special price of $8.99.
Other Hitchcock films available during the sale include “Rope,” “Shadow of a Doubt,” “The Man Who Knew Too Much” (1956 version), “Torn Curtain,” “Marnie,” “Saboteur” and “Family Plot,” all on sale for $8.99 until end of day, Monday, Sept. 14.
For its time, Psycho pushed strict censorship boundaries and landed Alfred Hitchcock the most successful project of his career. Some say the 45-second shower murder scene is the most famous in all of cinematic history. It has several Academy Award nominations, and Janet Leigh won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress.
