Sling TV Updates Its Apple TV App With New Features

Apple TV and RemoteToday Sling TV updated its iOS app with several new features including Launch Into Live and Browse While you Watch. Now with Sling TV on Apple TV you have more control than ever over how your app behaves.

Here is how Sling TV describes these features.

·       Launch Into Live: Now when you open the Sling TV app on Apple TV, you’ll be launched into the last channel you were watching instead of sent to navigating through “My TV.” This makes it easier for subscribers to get to the programs quickly without having to click around so much. The Sling TV guide will be displayed over the launch channel, making it easy to switch between channels.

·       Browse While Watching: Apple TV users will also be able to browse other Sling content without interrupting their current channel playing in the background. You’ll see a half-screen guide, allowing you to still hear and watch your current channel.

If you like the “MyTV” screen and want to keep things the same, you can always disable the Launch Into Live by going to Settings in the upper right screen corner. Press Preferences and uncheck “Auto-Play Video When App Launches.”

Right now, Launch Into Live and Browse While Watching are only available on iOS. will roll out to additional devices in the coming months.

Sling TV today also announced that the Sling TV app is now available on Facebook’s Portal TV app.
