Happy young woman watching television on sofaThe field of live TV streaming services is growing quickly with six new services getting ready to launch. Sling TV was the first of the major live TV services and has faced strong competition from services such as PlayStation Vue. So who is the most popular, and how do they lineup with other services?

In a new study from , which looked at the most popular subscription streaming services in the United States, Sling TV came in at #6 overall and was the #1 live TV subscription service on the list. HBO Now came in at #7 and CBS All Access came in at #10.

What is interesting is how successful Sling TV is. Sling TV beat out HBO Now, Crunchyroll, Showtime, CBS All Access, and their main competitor PlayStation Vue, which did not even make the list.

To celebrate the report from Parks Associates Roger Lynch held a live Q&A on Twitter using Periscope.

A Few Highlights:

When asked about DVR, Lynch said, “We are always working on new functionality.”

When asked about DirecTV Now offering 100 channels for $35: “We are not about providing 100 channels we are about offering flexibility.” Lynch went on to talk about how Sling TV is about keeping the price low at $20 a month.

“In the past TV was more about live TV and now it’s more about flexibility,” said Roger Lynch.

It will be interesting to see how the live TV market looks a year from now after all the new services hit the market.
