Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, Hulu, & More Added 500,000 Subscribers in The 1st Quarter of 2019

Man watching film on tablet with imaginary video player service.Today at the Pay-TV Show Marci Ryvicker the Managing Director of Wolf Research announced that they believe live TV streaming services like Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, Hulu, and others added about 500,000 subscribers in the 1st quarter of 2019.

We also learned for Leicnman that Pay-TV providers overall lost 1.325 million subscribers during the same period of 2019. This means more than half of all new cord cutters have decided that on-demand or an antenna is all they need.

For all the talk of how cord cutting services like Sling TV and PlayStation Vue would save TV it seems that cord cutters would rather just get Netflix, Hulu on-demand, or Amazon among others. This is the ultimate fear of cable TV executives. Not only are people dropping their high-profit bundles they are not moving into the lower profit so called skinny bundles.
