Sling TV Officially Launches Unlimited DVR

Sling subscribers can rewatch all of their favorite shows, movies, games, events, and more with the convenience of unlimited DVR, the company officially announced today. Last week, it was reported that Sling rolled out the feature for select customers.

The DVR Plus add-on, previously capped at 200 hours, has been renamed to Unlimited DVR effective immediately and gives viewers unlimited DVR storage for only $5 per month. Subscribers can rewatch their saved recordings for up to 9 months.

“With Unlimited DVR and our exclusive Auto Record, Sling TV continues to redefine what value and convenience look like for streaming customers,” said Seth Van Sickel, senior vice president, Product and Operations, DISH Video Services. “This enhancement ensures that our subscribers can capture and enjoy their favorite shows, movies, and events on their terms, anytime and anywhere.”

The upgrade to unlimited DVR capability enhances Sling in a competitive streaming market. Multi-channel live TV streaming competitors Philo, DIRECTV STREAM, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, and Fubo each offer unlimited DVR storage, with the latter being the last one to make the switch.

Those without the Unlimited DVR add-on can enjoy 50 hours of recordings that come standard with any Sling subscription. Sling Freestream viewers also have 10 hours of storage for no additional cost.
