Sling TV Is Making Big Changes to Its Lineup

Sling TV has been aggressively adding new channels over the last 2 years with deals with networks such as FOX and the NFL Network. Now it seems Sling TV is rearranging its lineup.

The changes started recently when Sling TV announced the El Ray channel will be moving to the Comedy Extra add-on. This will move the channel from its base package up to an add-on in the middle of June.

Now Sling TV has also quietly dropped its Maker channels—both Polaris and Maker—from its service. Maker was one of the first channels on Sling TV and was joined by Polaris later that same year. (Maker is owned by Disney.)

Disney was one of the first backers of Sling TV, striking a deal with Dish to allow its content on Sling TV a full 10 months before the service was even officially announced.  This deal between Dish and Disney was a blessing for Sling at the time because it gave it access to many popular channels including Disney, ABC Family (now Free Form), and ESPN.

Now it seems that Dish is getting ready to make some changes to its service. Dropping Maker, Polaris, and El Ray from its base package or the service overall will clear up space for new channels. What these new channels will be or what Sling TV will look like in a month is unknown right now.
