Sling TV Just Rolled Out an Update to Their Roku App

Today Sling TV started to update their Roku Channel with a fresh new look that shows you everything Sling TV has to offer. In the past, if you did not subscribe to add-ons you would never know what it was showing. Now Sling TV has added the ability for you to clearly see additional content you could add through Sling TV add-ons in the MyTV section.

“If you’re a current customer on a Roku device, you’ll see shows from services and Extras you’re not currently subscribed to, identified by an “Add’ icon. This means you can upgrade your services and Extras directly from the shows and sports you want to watch. For example, instead of upgrading to “Sports Extra” from the “Add Premium Channels & More” ribbon, you’ll be able to upgrade based on the upcoming game in the Featured Sports ribbon.” Said Jimshade Chaudhari Vice President of Product Management at Sling TV.

You will also now be able to add additional Sling TV add-ons right from your Roku without the need to go to Sling TV’s website. Now, this won’t show up in your guide but will show up in the MyTV section. So if you just want to see content you are subscribed to you can do so using the Guide. In recent months, Sling TV has been pushing their service as an all in one stop to manage multiple streaming services like NBA League Pass. By putting this content more front and center and making it easier to subscribe to this content, Sling TV is hoping to continue their efforts to take on Amazon’s Channels.
