Sling TV is Rolling Out an Updated Roku Channel With a New Grid Guide

Yesterday Sling TV started to roll out a new Roku Channel with an updated grid guide that looks a lot more like a traditional cable TV guide. You will also find a new player that will allow you to better find out what you’re watching, including show name, description, closed caption options, player controls are more on Roku Players and Roku TVs.

Sling TV has not issued an official statement but did confirm to Cord Cutters News that this new guide is the same one that rolled out to the Apple TV back in January. Here is the statement Sling TV issued about the Apple TV update:

“Starting today, Apple TV users will get to enjoy new features that simplify how you stream on Sling TV. The updated features provide a more content-centric experience, allowing you to manage your favorites and see more information about shows before you click to watch.” Sling TV’s Jimshade Chaudhari said in a statement on their website.

Now the Roku UI looks slightly different than the Apple TV update from a few months ago but the features all seem to be the same.
