Sling TV Adds Viacom Channels Today & is Officially Coming to The New Apple TV

Sling New UIToday at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Sling TV announced the release of their live and on-demand Internet TV service on Apple TV. The over-the-top provider’s suite of services, including its single-stream, beta multi-stream, Sling Latino and Sling International offerings, are available to Sling TV customers once they download the app from the App Store on fourth-generation Apple TV.

“Delivering the best TV experience for our viewers means being on the devices people want to use — Apple TV is our most requested platform, and we’re excited to finally bring Sling TV to Apple TV today,” said Roger Lynch, CEO of Sling TV. “Incorporating Apple TV innovations like touch with the Siri Remote will enable Sling TV’s new UI to deliver the highly polished experience Apple fans have come to expect.”

Sling TV on Apple TV 

Sling TV will let Apple TV users watch the best live and on-demand content, including some of the most popular sporting events, breaking news, TV series, movies and more, starting at $20 per month.

New Sling TV customers have access to an exclusive offer to purchase a 32GB Apple TV for $89 when they pre-pay for three months of Sling TV’s single-stream service or beta multi-stream service. New users can sign up for Sling TV and take advantage of the Apple TV offer by visiting Sling TV’s site.

Beta multi-stream update 2: Content from FXX, Nat Geo Wild and FS2 now available in BEST OF LIVE TV™

Customers who subscribe to the core package of our beta multi-stream service now have access to FS2 and on-demand content from FXX and Nat Geo WILD. Beta multi-stream subscribers automatically get access to this new content by selecting the channel in the Sling TV guide.

FXX: Known for edgy, authentic, irreverent, smart and subversive programming, viewers can watch “You’re the Worst,” “Man Seeking Woman” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” along with a growing roster of blockbuster movies and acquired cult comedies, like “Parks and Recreation” and “The Simpsons,” all on demand.

Nat Geo WILD: From what’s going on inside your pet’s mind to the habits of the most unusual and elusive creatures, explore the unknown through passionate storytelling, spectacular imagery, and expert eyewitness accounts. Nat Geo WILD provides on-demand programming about animals and nature, with top shows like “Dr. K’s Exotic Animal ER,” “Mission Critical” and “Animals Gone Wild.”

FS2: With the addition of FS2, viewers have access to live coverage of the most exciting and compelling sporting events in the world. Whether they love soccer, fights, racing, rugby, snowboarding, wakeboarding, motocross or surfing, there’s always something thrilling on Fox Sports 2. Fans can expect plenty of programming from NASCAR, Formula 1, drag racing, UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, Copa America, UFC and Ultimate Fighter.

Viacom joins Sling TV; OTT provider launches new ‘Extra’ packs

Sling TV expanded its service offerings with the addition of 12 Viacom networks, including Comedy Central, Nick Jr., BET, NickToons, TeenNick, MTV, Spike, MTV2, Logo, CMT, TV Land and VH1. Sling TV also introduced its new “Comedy Plus Extra” and rebranded its “Lifestyle Extra” as “Lifestyle Plus Extra,” each priced at $5 per month.

“The Viacom channels are a great addition to Sling TV, offering a variety of content that appeals to many audiences,” said Roger Lynch, CEO of Sling TV. “By delivering these channels to consumers in our core and ‘Extra’ packs, we are giving them the flexibility to personalize their Sling TV service to fit their needs.”
