Sling TV Is Giving Full Refunds to Broadcast Extra Subscribers During the Univision Blackout

Worried couple reading a letter sitting on a couch in the living room at homeYesterday, Univision pulled their content from Sling TV and Dish after negotiations broke down over a 75% fee increase. Now Sling TV has announced that they have started to refund subscribers of their Broadcast Extra add-on.

With the Broadcast Extra add-on, subscribers in select markets got ABC, Univision, and Unimás. For now, Sling TV says they have stopped offering that $5 add-on and anyone who currently has the add-on is being refunded.

Sling TV is sending the following email to affected subscribers:

Hello,

We are reaching out to let you know that we are not currently offering our Broadcast Extra Package, which includes ABC, Univision, and UniMás. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

We refunded your card on file $5, which is the full price you paid for Broadcast Extra in your last bill. You should see that refund on your card in the next 3–5 days.

We will notify you if this package becomes available again.

Thank you for being a loyal Sling TV subscriber!

Cord Cutters News confirmed with a Sling TV spokesperson that all Broadcast Extra subscribers are getting full refunds for the add-on. We also confirmed that for now, this means that for now, ABC the only remaining channel in the Broadcast Extra add-on is not available on Sling TV at this time. Sling TV says they hope to bring ABC back soon.
