Sling TV Freestream, the free ad-supported streaming arm of Sling TV, has added two new channels to its growing roster of over 600 live and on-demand options, further enriching its offerings for cord cutters seeking no-cost entertainment. Announced today, the additions—The Osbornes, featuring rock legend Ozzy Osbourne and his family, and Earth Touch TV, a wildlife-focused channel—bring fresh variety to the platform, which has been steadily expanding since its 2023 launch.

The Osbornes dives into the chaotic, colorful world of Ozzy Osbourne, his wife Sharon, and their kids Kelly and Jack, reviving the reality TV vibe that made their early 2000s MTV series a hit. Expect unfiltered family antics, heavy metal flair, and Ozzy’s signature eccentricity—perfect for fans nostalgic for the days when TV Guide debuted 72 years ago today with Lucille Ball’s baby on the cover. Meanwhile, Earth Touch TV offers a deep dive into nature, showcasing blue-chip wildlife programming from Earth Touch, a global leader in natural history content. “The creation of Earth Touch TV has unlocked new opportunities for audiences to enjoy our diverse collection of wildlife programming,” said Lara Cox, Group Chief Operating Officer at Earth Touch. “We’re excited to further our reach in the US with Sling Freestream and to bring our brand of beloved blue-chip content to new US audiences, along with compelling new specials that showcase the wonders of the natural world.”

Accessible via the Sling TV app on devices like Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and smart TVs—or at watch.sling.com—these channels require no login or credit card, aligning with Freestream’s low-barrier appeal. The Osbornes taps into reality TV’s enduring draw, while Earth Touch TV joins a trend of niche nature content, This rollout follows Sling Freestream’s March 27 addition of five channels, including Crunchyroll and Poker Go, and complements competitors like Roku Channel (28.2% in a best-free-service poll) and Pluto TV, which trails at 26.8%. With cable costs soaring—19.4% of subscribers pay over $200 monthly, per a survey—these free channels offer relief for the 74.6% who once paid over $100 before cutting the cord.

Sling Freestream’s expansion underscores the shift to free, ad-supported streaming. Available now, The Osbornes and Earth Touch TV join a lineup bolstered by Stingray’s six music channels added March 12, keeping Sling’s free tier vibrant in a landscape where local TV eyes 5G and newspapers close at two-plus weekly, per Northwestern University.
