Sling TV Expands Locast Integration to Android TV and Android Mobile

Sling TV is making it easier for subscribers who use Locast for locals to see what’s on TV. Sling has expanded its Locast integration and is showing Locast channels in its channel guide on Android TV and Android mobile devices.

The Sling TV and Locast integration started in February when a Sling update allowed subscribers using an Air TV Mini to see Locast channels on their channel guide. The update came to Android devices late last week, and will likely continue expanding to more devices, but Sling has not yet shared details about which devices will be updated to include Locast channels in the Sling channel guide next.

While the channels will show up in the Sling guide, selecting one of the channels will take you out of the Sling app and open the Locast app. Sling’s Cloud DVR does not work with Locast channels.

Locast is available in 31 markets: Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Madison, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland (OR), Puerto Rico, Rapid City, Sacramento, San Francisco, Scranton, Seattle, Sioux City, Sioux Falls, Tampa Bay, Washington DC, and West Palm Beach.
