Sling TV Ends Support for Older Roku Devices on June 29, Offers Free Roku Express

Some Sling subscribers are receiving emails with a warning that their streaming device will no longer be supported, starting tomorrow.

Note: The Roku Express offer is only available to customers who receive an email from Sling letting them know that they qualify.

Along with the announcement that some older Roku devices will no longer be supported, Sling is sharing an offer for a free Roku Express for those customers.

Here’s the message subscribers are getting from Sling:

Hi Fellow Slinger,

You are eligible for a Free Roku Express!

As of June 29th, 2020, the SLING TV app will no longer function on your 2011-2012 Roku device. We understand it can be frustrating to find out that you’ll no longer be able to watch your favorite shows and movies on the device you want.

Which is why we’d like to offer you a brand new Roku Express device, on us!

Just log on to your My Account page at sling.com and redeem.

This offer will only be available for a limited time, so the sooner you act, the less of your favorites you’ll miss!

Best,

The SLING TV Customer Care Team

If you’re using Sling TV on an older Roku device, check your email or log in to your account to see if you’re eligible for a free device to keep watching content.
