Sling TV Announces Plans to Add OTA DVR to Their Air TV

Sling TV’s Air TV player will allow you to integrate your antenna into the Sling TV interface. Now it looks like the Air TV devices will soon be adding a DVR feature for OTA channels.

Update: Air TV today confirmed to Cord Cutters News that a new OTA DVR is coming soon.

Recently the AirTV.net website was updated adding a side by side breakdown of the Air TV and the Air TV Player. On that chart was an option of a DVR with both devices listed as “a DVR coming soon.”

For the first gen Air TV, a cloud DVR for OTA is listed as “coming soon.” This likely means the DVR will be stored in the cloud.

Update: Air TV clarified that the Sling TV Cloud DVR is available today for the AirTV Player and that an OTA DVR is coming. This likely means that the Air TV Player will use the USB port to connect an external HD for OTA recording.

The website does not list any dates for when these new features will be added.
