Sling TV Adds MeTV, Bringing Nostalgic Classics to Cord-Cutters Nationwide

Sling TV, the pioneering live TV streaming service, has announced the addition of MeTV to its channel lineup, delivering a wave of nostalgia to subscribers craving classic television. The network, celebrated for its curated selection of iconic shows from the 1950s through the mid-1980s, is now available to all Sling Orange, Sling Blue, and Sling Select package subscribers, effective immediately. This move strengthens Sling’s position as a go-to platform for customizable, affordable streaming, blending modern convenience with the timeless appeal of vintage entertainment.

MeTV, short for Memorable Entertainment Television, has carved a niche as America’s premier classic television network since its launch in 2005. The channel offers a diverse array of programming, spanning beloved sitcoms, gripping westerns, intense courtroom dramas, and groundbreaking sci-fi series. Fan-favorite shows like MASH*, The Andy Griffith Show, The Twilight Zone, The Carol Burnett Show, Mission: Impossible, and Dragnet anchor MeTV’s lineup, with four episodes of MASH* airing every weeknight at 6 p.m. ET. Unlike many modern networks, MeTV maintains a consistent 7-day schedule, ensuring viewers can reliably tune in for their favorite classics without scrambling to check programming changes.

“With all due respect to fuzzy blankets and warm drinks on cold days, there are few things more comforting than revisiting the classic entertainment we grew up on,” Sling TV stated in its announcement. “If you’re in need of a potent dose of nostalgia, MeTV is the channel for you.” The addition taps into a growing demand for retro content among cord-cutters, offering a bridge between the golden and silver ages of television and today’s streaming-first audiences. MeTV’s inclusion complements Sling’s customizable approach, allowing subscribers to pair nostalgic programming with sports, news, and modern entertainment.

Sling TV’s Orange and Blue plans, priced at $46 and $46-$51 per month respectively (depending on local channel availability), already offer 30-40+ channels, including ESPN, CNN, and Bravo. The new Sling Select package, which also includes MeTV, provides another tailored option for viewers. Subscribers can record MeTV’s offerings using Sling’s 50 hours of free Cloud DVR, ensuring they never miss a moment of The Three Stooges or Batman. “MeTV has an embarrassment of riches,” Sling noted, highlighting the channel’s ability to resonate with viewers across generations.

The addition of MeTV comes as Sling continues to differentiate itself in a crowded streaming market. With competitors like Hulu + Live TV and YouTube TV charging upwards of $80-$83 per month, Sling’s affordability and flexibility remain key selling points. MeTV, traditionally available via over-the-air antennas or select cable providers, now reaches a broader audience through Sling’s streaming platform, accessible on devices like Roku, Fire TV, and smartphones.
