Sling TV Added 214,000 New Subscribers in The 3rd Quarter of 2019 As DISH Added 148,000 TV Subscribers

After AT&T TV NOW reported it had lost over 195,000 subscribers many wondered if Sling TV would also lose subscribers. Today we learned that Sling TV gained about 214,000 subscribers in the 3rd quarter of 2019 and now has over 2.69 million subscribers. This is up from the 2.47 million subscribers Sling TV had in the 2nd quarter of 2019. This means Sling TV is still the largest live TV streaming service in the United States. Dish satellite lost 66,000 customers as Sling TV helped lift Dish into positive subscriber growth.

Overall Dish added 148,000 TV subscribers up considerably from the 341,000 subscribers Dish lost in the 3rd quarter of 2018. Dish now has a total of 9.49 million pay-TV subscribers. Dish adding subscribers comes as AT&T lost over a million pay-TV subscribers in the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Net income attributable to DISH Network totaled $353 million for the third quarter of 2019, compared to net income of $432 million from the year-ago quarter.

Later today Dish will hold their earnings call that should give us more insight into the future of Dish and Sling TV.
