Sling International Launches on Comcast’s Xfinity X1 Platform

Father curled up on the sofa with his two daughters. They are watching a movie with popcorn.Today Sling TV and Comcast have teamed up to bring Sling International to the Xfinity X1 platform. Now Xfinity subscribers can use their cable box to stream international programming in 21 languages starting at $10 a month.

Sling International supported languages include Arabic, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, Urdu, Bangla, Bengali, Brazilian, French, Italian, German, Polish, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Mandarin and English.

“Sling TV has always been committed to supporting the devices already in your home, and the X1 platform joins other Sling TV-supported devices, which already includes smart televisions, tablets, computers, smartphones, streaming devices and game consoles.” Said Izabela Sloikowska Vice President, International Programming, Sling TV.

This move seems like a win-win for both Comcast and Sling TV. Comcast no longer has to worry about trying to offer international programming over their cable network but still provides an easy way for their customers to access the content they want. Sling TV gets access to even more customers through the Comcast X1 platform.

Existing Sling International customers can sign in with their Sling TV credentials by selecting the Sling International app from the featured or entertainment sections in the “Apps” menu or by simply saying “Sling International” into their X1 voice remote. New customers can sign up for a Sling International subscription right in the app on their compatible Comcast X1 set-top box.
