SiriusXM is Buying Pandora

Today it was announced that SiriusXM will be buying Pandora in an all-stock deal worth $3.5 billion. The deal will reportedly close in early 2019, but Pandora reservices the right to “actively solicit, receive, evaluate and potentially enter negotiations with parties that offer alternative proposals following the execution date of the definitive agreement.”

With this deal, SiriusXM and Pandora will be worth $7 billion in combined revenue in 2018. SiriusXM currently has 36 million subscribers in North America and Pandora has more than 70 million active users.
