Sinclair Will Launch The Nest Network on 35 More TEGNA Channels This Month

Sinclair Broadcast Group struck a new distribution deal with to bring its broadcast network The Nest to dozens more channels across the country.

The Nest is a free, over-the-air national network, and through a partnership with fellow broadcaster TEGNA, will launch this month on 35 additional channels affiliated with NBC, CBS, FOX, ABC, and MyNetwork. This expansion means The Nest reaches 79% of over-the-air television households in the U.S. The Nest will be available on major networks in Atlanta, Washington D.C., Phoenix, Tampa, Minneapolis, Cleveland, Sacramento, Indianapolis, San Diego, and New Orleans, to name a few.

The additional channels bring The Nest to 44 out of the top 50 television markets, meaning its reach extends to a good chunk of the country. The agreement also moves another Sinclair-owned channel, Comet, to the TEGNA-owned CBS affiliate KHOU TV channel 11 in Houston. Comet is Sinclair’s sci-fi and fantasy network featuring shows like The X-Files, Stargate SG-1, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Grimm. In January, Comet launched in New York and San Francisco.

The Nest, which launched last October, offers a slew of programs it calls “comfort food.” The channel hosts true crime series like Dog the Bounty Hunter, reality series such as Growing Up Gotti, and home improvement shows including Sell This House.

The Nest and Comet are available to watch online. Comet also streams on The Roku Channel, Apple TV, Stirr, Fubo, YouTube TV, Sling, and Dish Network.

The Nest will be available on these TEGNA-owned channels starting in February, and Sinclair plans to grow its reach more throughout 2024. You might need to rescan your antenna to get the new channels if you live in one of these markets.
