Showtime is Shutting Down Its Streaming App After Paramount+ Merger

Yesterday, Paramount started to inform Showtime customers who pay through a TV provider that the Showtime Anytime app will be shutting down on December 14, 2023. Customers’ subscriptions to Showtime through a TV provider will continue, but going forward, you will need to watch your Showtime content through your TV provider.

The Showtime Anytime app allowed customers who paid for the channel through their TV provider to stream Showtime content on-demand on any supported device.

On the Showtime Anytime website, Paramount has posted this message:

Showtime Anytime will shut down on 12/14/23. However, your subscription via your TV provider will remain active. Contact them to learn about other ways to watch SHOWTIME.

This all comes as Showtime has been merged into Paramount+ for streaming. Showtime as a stand-alone service through YouTube TV costs $10.99 a month. If you subscribe through Paramount+, you can get Showtime and Paramount+ for $11.99 a month or $119.99 a year.

Paramount announced that the Showtime Anytime app will shut down after the merger earlier this year. Now it has followed through on that warning and announced the shutdown to come.

If you want to continue to pay for showtime through your TV provider, you should contact them for more details on how to watch Showtime content.
