“And just like that…” once again, you can look forward to Carrie Bradshaw and all her many fashions gracing your screen since HBO Max is getting a Sex and the City revival. The news broke over the weekend with Sarah Jessica Parker herself confirming the series with a teaser trailer on her Instagram account.

The new Max Original series, called And Just Like That, is based on the book, “Sex and the City,” by Candice Bushnell and the original TV series created by Darren Star. It will be a continuation of the original storyline, this time following the girls as they navigate their way around life in New York City in their 50s. Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis will return as their characters of Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York Goldenblatte, and Miranda Hobbes. Sarah Jessica Parker also teased in a reply to a fan comment on her Instagram that “some others you know” will make an appearance in the reboot. We’re hoping Mr. Big will still be in the story.

Noticeably missing from the original cast list is Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones who will not be returning for the HBO Max revival. SATC fans aren’t too surprised to hear the actress isn’t reprising her role, since she also declined to appear in a Sex and the City 3 movie and has had some apparent drama with the original cast members.

“I grew up with these characters, and I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humor and the beloved city that has always defined them,” said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max.

No release date has been announced yet. The 10, half-hour episode limited series is set to begin production in late spring.
