Several Changes Are Coming to DIRECTV NOW in July

DIRECTV NOW has slowly but consistently been making changes to its service—both to attract new members and to fix issues found at launch.

Starting in July a few things are about to change with DIRECTV NOW.

Device Support

Starting July 1, 2017, DIRECTV NOW will only support Chrome when streaming on a PC or laptop. That means IE, Safari, and Firefox will no longer be supported. We are not sure why this is happening. It is likely AT&T is about to roll out a major update to the website on July 1. It is also possible that DIRECTV NOW is changing some security or other settings that only Google’s Chrome supports.

Device Deals

DIRECTV NOW is also getting ready to change some of the deals people can get. Starting July 1 the free Fire TV Stick deal will end, but DIRECTV NOW will still have the free Roku Premiere deal if you prepay for two months.

New Channels

There will also be new channels with the addition of NBC Olympics Sports channel and more locals likely to be added. In April DIRECTV NOW announced it will be getting a ton of ABC and NBC stations back. Now it is believed that we should start to see these roll out soon.
