Save $50 on DIRECTV STREAM for 5 Months to Stream Mavericks Games

Watching the NBA is about to become a lot easier for fans of the Dallas Mavericks, thanks to owner Mark Cuban and DIRECTV STREAM. Last week, we reported that Cuban was trying to figure out a way to offer DIRECTV STREAM at a discounted price to Mavs fans. Now, Cuban’s plan has become a reality, as he has partnered up with the only streaming service to offer Bally Sports Southwest, the official home of Mavs games.

How It Works

The first 10,000 new DIRECTV STREAM subscribers in select zip codes can get a $50 credit each month for up to 5 months after signing up for the Choice package, or any higher tier package. The Choice package starts at $84.99 monthly, which means the discount drops the monthly price to $34.99.

“DirecTV Stream is already the streaming service that gives fans across the country the most access to watch their hometown teams,” said Vince Torres, DIRECTV CMO.

“Knowing that, and given our longstanding relationship with the Mavs, collaborating with Mark Cuban on an opportunity that gives passionate Mav fans a chance to see their team play on our platform and creates more exposure for DirecTV Stream, is a no brainer.”

As an investor on the hit show Shark Tank, Cuban saw an opportunity to build the Mavs Fans For Life (MFFLs) brand by getting more eyes on their games. Originally, the offer was made to all Club Maverick Members, but it has now been extended throughout the MFFL fanbase. He spent $2.5M of his own money to give MFFLs a way to steam the game.

Time will tell if other owners, or if a sports league like the NBA, NHL, or MLB will follow suit and offer fans a similar slam dunk of a deal that they’ve been waiting for. Until then, Mavs fans can sign up for DIRECTV STREAM and start streaming now.
