Samsung TV Plus Adds A&E and More Local FOX News Channels

Samsung TV Plus is a free, ad-supported streaming platform available on its the consumer electronics giant’s smart televisions. Like other free platforms, it’s spent the last year building its library, and is ending the year with several key additions, including channels dedicated to popular A&E shows.

In addition, it’s adding access to seven local FOX news channels for community stories, sports updates, weather forecasts and more. The new markets are Austin, Detroit, Milwaukee, Orlando, Phoenix, Seattle and Tampa Bay.

Samsung TV Plus joins a myriad of free, ad-supported platforms aiming to attract audiences who may be turned off by the sheer number and increasing cost of subscriber streaming services. Savvy cord cutters have caught on to the fact that there is a wealth of free content available on these platforms. Samsung TV Plus, which is front and center on Samsung’s smart TV operating system, boasts more than 330 channels and thousands of shows and films on demand.
