The best part is not only will this new chip work with the new 5G standard it will also work with legacy networks, including 2G GSM/CDMA, 3G WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, HSPA, and 4G LTE, all on a single chip.
The chip can pull in a maximum download speed of 2 Gbps on 5G and 1.6 Gbps on 4G networks. The chip is also small enough to fit into phones and a wide range of products to expand Internet of Things. This means soon everything from your car to your appliances may be using 5G internet.
