Samsung’s latest computer display packs in Tizen-powered smart TV features to create what the company calls the “world’s first do-it-all screen.” The Smart Monitor, as it’s called, is also Samsung’s first monitor to feature WiFi, Bluetooth, and the company’s Wireless DeX feature, which lets users connect Galaxy devices.

“Consumers’ reliance on monitors has dramatically increased during this time when many are staying-at-home,” Mark Quiroz, vice president of marketing for Samsung Electronics America, said in a press release. “Smart Monitor is Samsung’s response to this new environment; its flexibility to transform into a display for work, school or streaming content makes it an incredible value, especially to younger consumers and cord-cutters seeking a do-it-all display.”

The Smart Monitor will come in two models and a couple different screen sizes. First, the M5 maxes out at 1080p resolution and will be available in 27- and 32-inch options. The step-up model is known as the M7 and boasts a 4K, 32-inch screen. All models support high-dynamic range via the HDR10 standard.

As mentioned, beyond their computer monitor chops, these displays also pack Samsung’s Tizen smart TV OS and app store, meaning you’ll have access to a variety of streaming options including Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, and Prime Video. You also get support for Remote Access, which lets you remotely connect to computers over the internet, as well as Apple’s AirPlay 2 for sharing content from your mobile devices. The monitors also come with built-in speakers and a remote control, so no need to add accessories to get the full smart TV effect.

Pricing starts at $229.99 for the 27-inch 1080p M5 and $279.99 for the 32-incher. If you want a 4K experience, the 32-inch M7 will retail for $399.99. Samsung says the M5 versions should be available this month, while you’ll have to wait until December for the M7 to arrive.
