Biker Mice From Mars is a pretty deep cut for any kid who grew up in the ’90s. Yet Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, is leading an effort to revive the relatively obscure cartoon for streaming service Fubo.

The show centered on three anthropomorphic mice named Throttle, Modo and Vinnie, who survived an apocalyptic war on Mars and end up defending Earth from the evil, foul-smelling Plutarkians (Did I mention this was weird?). It consisted of 65 episodes and ended in 1996.

And now it’s coming back, 27 years later on Reynolds’ Maximum Effort channel on Fubo.

Biker Mice From Mars is just the latest decades-old property to be revived as Hollywood mines our nostalgic love for old shows and movies — even ones that have a cult following. Reynolds also announced this week that he was working with Fubo to bring back the 1980s classic alien/family comedy Alf.

Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort production company, which produced the Deadpool films, Free Guy and Welcome to Wrexham, is working in partnership with Nacelle, the media company best known for its Netflix documentaries like The Movies That Made Us and The Toys That Made Us, and Fubo, where it will stream.

“Some people know that I am a motorcycle enthusiast, so it was only natural for us to jump on board Biker Mice from Mars,” said Maximum Effort Co-founder Ryan Reynolds.

Brian Volk-Weiss, who founded Nacelle, will direct the show.

“The same way you can’t have a hot dog without a bun, what would a biker mouse be without a bike? I believe we have definitely answered that question!” said Brian Volk-Weiss.

Nacelle already got the revival effort going for Biker Mice From Mars earlier this year by offering new toys of the titular characters up for preorder on its site. The three mice cost $107.97 and are estimated to arrive in the fall or winter of this year.

The Maximum Effort channel is available to watch on Fubo as well as Amazon Freevee, LG Channels, Plex, Sling Freestream, Tubi, VIDAA, VIZIO Watchfree+, and Xumo Play.
