Roku is Rolling Out a Roku OS 7.7 Update

Good News! The Roku summer  update, Roku OS 7.7, starts rolling out to select Roku devices today. According to Roku “Roku OS 7.7 focuses primarily on bug fixes and firmware optimizations to increase performance of Roku SceneGraph (RSG) channels.”

How to update

All Roku’s made after 2011 and Roku TV models will update to Roku OS 7.7 in the next few weeks. The update will roll out in phases, and is expected to reach all eligible Roku players by the end of August.

Roku has yet to release a list of the user end changes. When you go to the story that talks about these changes you get a error message. Yet the Roku Developer blog has posted a list of back end changes. These may not be of interests to most users but here is what they changed on the back end for developers.
