The Roku Channel also offers more than 30 premium content services including HBO, SHOWTIME, EPIX, and STARZ. “We’re excited about the growth of The Roku Channel, which offers ad-supported content, live programming, and premium subscriptions all in a friendly, consistent UI, with a single login and one bill,” Roku said on their website.
This week, Roku updated The Roku Channel to make access to premium content you subscribe to even easier. In the past you needed to open The Roku Channel and scan through all the content to find the HBO content you subscribed to. Now when you subscribe to a service like HBO through The Roku Channel it will add a new HBO Roku Channel to your home screen. This will let you quickly access the content you subscribe to.
This new channel on your Roku home screen will launch directly into that channel’s content inside The Roku Channel.
This makes subscribing to premium services through The Roku Channel much more like subscribing to it directly through separate apps. Now you have the ability to manage your subscriptions all from a single user interface and account.
