Roku is The Most Popular Streaming Player in United States – Bigger Than the Fire TV & Apple TV

Roku has for some time now been the most popular streaming player in the United States, but Amazon has been promoting its strong growth around the world. Now a new report from eMarketer shows that Roku is still the highest selling streaming player in the United States.

According to the eMarketer report published in Bloomberg, Roku has 86.2 million streaming players sold in the United States. That is compared to 64.6 million Fire TVs and just 24.6 million Apple TVs in the United States. (These numbers are exclusive to the United States.)

eMarketer went on to predict that Roku will maintain its lead and in 2023 will have 111.7 million streaming players in the United States compared to Amazon Fire TV’s 88.3 million. The Apple TV will reportedly remain in fourth place behind the Chromecast with just 25.5 million streaming players vs Chromecast’s 34.2 million in 2023.

Roku has worked hard to keep the price of Roku players down. Roku has hoped that they could make up the price of the low Roku player starting at $29.99 by selling ads. With advertising dollars shifting from traditional TV services to streaming Roku stands to be a big winner.
