Yesterday, we reported that a new bug had emerged for those using antennas with their Roku TVs. The was causing the Roku screensaver to pop up every 10 to 15 minutes while users were watching TV and forcing the user to go back to the home screen to relaunch their content. Normally, the screensaver only appears after a set period of inactivity.
The issue was only impacting antenna users – those who were streaming content through a streaming service were not having the same problem.
Today, Roku reached out to Cord Cutters News to say that they are aware of the problem and are issuing an update to resolve it for the users who were affected.
In the meantime, if your viewing while using an antenna is being interrupted, you can try disability the screensaver completely. Go to Settings > Theme > Screensaver and choose “Disable” to prevent the screensaver from turning on.
