For months now, Roku owners have been unable to watch the Disney+ ad-supported plans because they didn’t work on Roku. Well, earlier today, Disney+ updated its Roku Channel, and now the ad-supported plan works on Roku players.

With the Disney+ Basic with ads, you can get Disney+ for just $7.99 a month a great savings over the more expensive ad-free plan.

There are a few features missing with the Disney+ Basic plan you can’t download videos for offline viewing, and some features, like the watch party, are missing.

Now with this update, Roku owners will finally be able to use the cheaper Disney+ Basic with ads plans to watch their favorite Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and more programming.

It seems that Disney has confirmed this news on a tech support Help Page. On that page, Disney tells Roku owners to update their app to start using the Disney+ with ads plan on Roku players.

Cord Cutters News has reached out to Disney and Roku for comment and will update this story as we learn more.
