Review: DroidBox T8 4K UHD TV Set-Top Box Based on Android Kitkat 4.4.2

The DroidBox T8 is the newest version of the DroidBox to be released on the market. With a powerful quad core processor and a custom skinned version of Android, there is a lot to love about this powerful little box from its free i8+ keyboard and touchpad to its likable remote.

The Hardware

The DroidBox T8 comes in a full metal case with a front-facing time display. (This is a nice addition for anyone who misses the clock on their cable box.) The DroidBox T8 has four ports, including an SD card slot and 3 USB ports—something most Android boxes do not offer.

The DroidBox T8 also comes with a quad core 2.0 GHz processer and 2GB of DDR3 RAM. There is also 8GB of internal storage that can be supplemented by an external flash drive or HHD.

User Interface

One of the bright spots of the DroidBox T8 is the new user interface, which replaces the older ugly interface, and it is a huge step up. A beautiful My Favorites section allows you to pin your most used applications, and it even has nice weather and time widgets. When compared to a number of similarly priced Android boxes, the DroidBox T8 stands out.

Our Experience

We tested the DroidBox T8 extensively and have yet to see it hang or crash. We are impressed with the stability of the system and Kodi on this device. If you want a stable, well-made Android box, this is a device to check out.
