Report: YouTube TV’s Price is Going Up

Worried couple reading a letter sitting on a couch in the living room at homeUpdate: 9to5Google is reporting that the price hike will be March 14th, not the earlier reported February 14th.

Earlier today BuzzFeed posted a story detailing new channels coming to YouTube TV. That story was quickly pulled down with a statement saying “This post was updated to remove embargoed information.”

According to the story starting tomorrow, YouTube TV will be adding TNT, Adult Swim, TBS, CNN, Cartoon Network, truTV, and Turner Classic Movies. They will also be adding sports networks like NBA TV, MLB Network, and you will be able to subscribe to add-on services like NBA League Pass.

YouTube TV will also be rolling out in new markets including Lexington, Dayton, Honolulu, El Paso, Burlington, Plattsburgh, Richmond, Petersburg, Mobile, Syracuse, Champaign, Springfield, Columbia, Charleston, Harlingen, Wichita, Wilkes-Barre, and Scranton.

The downside is that starting March 14th 2018 new subscribers will pay $40 a month. From the best, we can tell current subscribers will continue to pay $35 a month.

If you have been thinking about getting YouTube TV and want to get on the $35 a month YouTube TV deal I would look at signing up for YouTube TV. If it turns out you don’t like it or the price goes up you can always cancel the service.

Here is a quick look at YouTube TV’s new Roku Channel.
