Report: The NFL Network Will Be the First Add-on for the PlayStation Vue

NFL TwitterA few weeks ago it was announced that the NFL Network and NFL RedZone would be coming to the PlayStation Vue.

“The NFL is constantly looking to serve our fans premium NFL content where and how they want to see it,” said Hans Schroeder, senior vice president, media strategy, business development, and sales for the NFL. “We’re excited to offer NFL Network and NFL RedZone through PlayStation Vue, an innovative platform that will provide fans yet another option for keeping up with the Network’s 24/7 NFL coverage and catching RedZone’s action-packed Sunday afternoon experience.”

Although there is still no official word on when they will be added, we now may have a hint at least for what package they will be in. Several reports have come in that PlayStation Vue customer service reps are telling subscribers that the NFL will be an add-on package. This would be the first non-premium add-on package for PlayStation Vue—something that Sling TV has used extensively.

Customer service reps have been a good source of information from Vue, and they correctly also leaked the release date of the Roku app.

Sling TV already has the NFL Network as part of its Blue Package for $25 a month, and you can add their sports package for $5 a month to get RedZone. If I had to guess, I would expect the NFL Network to be a part of a basic package with the RedZone service to be an add-on.

As for when the NFL Network will come to PlayStation Vue all we know is that it will be available before the season starts in a few weeks.
