Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington Will Co-Executive Produce and Star in Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng, one of the most popular novels of 2017, will be coming to Hulu as an 8- episode limited series. In March 2018, Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington posted a video on Facebook to announce that they would be teaming up for the project.

Witherspoon had this to say, on behalf of her studio Hello Sunshine: “At Hello Sunshine, we strive to shine a light on female-driven stories that are rooted in inspiration, emotion and truth — all of which form the bedrock of Celeste Ng’s ingenious work,” said Witherspoon. “Hulu has a rich history of transforming groundbreaking literature into groundbreaking television, and we are confident that their talented team will use this story to spur a long-overdue dialogue around race, class, and what it means to be a mother.”

Along with Witherspoon and Washington, the series has cast Rosemarie DeWitt as Linda McCullough. You might recognize DeWitt from La La Land or from the Arkangel episode of Black Mirror on Netflix.

Variety recently reported that Lynn Shelton has signed on to direct four episodes, including the premiere and finale. Shelton has previously directed episodes of Mad Men and GLOW, along with seven features.

The series is set to premiere on Hulu in 2020.
