Redbox Announces Redbox Drops Delivery Service

Redbox is changing the game of movie rentals once again, combining moving streaming and physical movie rentals in a whole new way.

Today, April 1st, Redbox announced a new service called Redbox Drops. With this new service, Redbox will deliver a full-sized, 700 lb. movie rental kiosk to your front door via drone.

Here’s how it works. When you’re ready to rent a DVD or Blu-Ray from Redbox, just summon the kiosk. A drone will bring the kiosk to your doorstep, allowing you to make your choice and get your disc. Then, the kiosk will promptly be sent back to one of Redbox’s thousands of convenient permanent locations. When you’re ready to return the disc, call for the kiosk to come back.

Renting physical media has never been easier.

Visit Redbox for more information about Redbox Drops. But seriously, Redbox is currently offering 25% off for new users on their first on demand rental. Offer expires April 1st at 11:59 pm.

Redbox has over 41,500 physical locations, around the country. You can also stream movies and TV shows through the Redbox app, through your computer, Roku, Apple TV, smart TV, Android or iOS device.
