RCA Has Developed a Roku Powered Projector

It looks like RCA is making a Roku projector. We’re first hearing about this thanks to this post by Twitter User @jank0,

The post he’s referencing is a grant application submitted and approved today for a 720 smart Roku WIFI projector. Grants authorize equipment for operation at approved frequencies and sale within the USA.

This isn’t the first projector that will be powered by Roku. We’ve seen similar products from 3M, Espson, and others. Like those products, this one will include a Roku streaming stick that will either be pre-installed or installed by the user. When the Roku stick is added, the projector will become a smart device and can be paired with the Roku remote.

We’ll now be keeping an eye out to see when RCA releases their version of a Roku projector and how they’ll market this projector to compete with others on the market.

We’ll update the story when we hear more information.
