Razer has long been known for their great PC and gaming peripherals, and in 2015 they added a streaming media player and gaming box to their lineup with the Razer Forge. We had an opportunity today to meet up with the Razer team and talk with one of the heads of the Forge project.

A lot of rumors have been floating around that the Forge was going to be dropped by Razer, but the team made it very clear in our meeting that they are more dedicated than ever to Android TV and the Razer Forge. Not only are they dedicated to Android TV, but they are also excited to announce that they are now moving games from the Ouya platform to the Forge.

It will take a while to move all of the games from the recently purchased Android gaming box Ouya to the Forge; however, several hundred have already been moved and more are being added every week. The staff at Razer made it clear that gaming is still a main focus of the Forge and the addition of Ouya to Razer is allowing them to add hundreds of new games to the device.

Razer staff clarified that they have big plans for the Forge in 2016. So while rumors of the demise of the Forge have been floating around for some time it seems they have been premature.
