Quibi is Offering a 90 Day Free Trial for a Limited Time

Quibi, the mobile-only streaming service, is set to launch on April 6. The new service will have 50 original shows at launch, including everything from game show reboots to celeb reality shorts. Now, the service is offering a 90 day free trial in hopes of luring subscribers in to try the service that will look unlike anything we’ve seen before.

Quibi, short for “quick bites,” is designed to be a service that subscribers will use in their spare time throughout the day. “You leave the house every morning with a little TV in your pocket. It’s called your smart phone,” CEO Meg Whitman said in 2018. “During the day, you have these in-between moments. Ten minutes here, 15 minutes there, where you want to see something great.”

Since announcing the service, the Quibi team has been busy gathering celebrity talent to lead its content. Chrissy Teigen, Reese Witherspoon, Chance the Rapper, and Idris Elba are just a few of the celebs creating content and spreading the word of Quibi on social media. Quibi has also gone through two rounds of fundraising, bringing in a total of $1.75 billion for the platform.

At CES, Meg Whitman and Founder Jeffrey Katzenberg took the stage to share a sneak peek of Quibi and announce some details, including the pricing tiers of the service. Quibi will charge $4.99 with ads and $7.99 for an ad-free version.

Those who visit the Quibi website and enter their email now will have access to a 90 day free trial before those subscriptions kick in.
