Production on ‘Bridgerton’ Season 2 is Up and Running Again After a Quick Covid Delay

Production for season 2 of Netflix’s Bridgerton series took a slight pause this week after a positive Covid test from someone on set. But now, filming is back up and running as of Friday, so no real delays can be expected in the release date of January 21, 2021.

The Netflix crew began production on season 2 in May on location in London, which has been a particular hotspot for Covid cases. The recent surges have prompted tightening restrictions across the city, however, the U.K. is set to fully reopen on July 19.

Season 1 of Bridgerton followed the relationship between Daphne Bridgerton and the Duke of Hastings. Season 2 will focus on Daphne’s brother Anthony and his search for his own partner as the season follows the second book of Quinn’s Bridgerton series, The Viscount Who Loved Me. If the following seasons continue in the same pattern, we’ll be seeing storylines based on An Offer from a Gentleman and Romancing Mister Bridgerton and could see a season for all eight novels in the series.
