Prime Video Unveils Thursday Night Football Schedule for the 2026 NFL Season

Prime Video has loaded up its fifth season of exclusive Thursday Night Football coverage with a 17-game slate that stretches from late August through a mid-January Wild Card matchup. This year’s package opens with a preseason tune-up on Thursday, August 27, then officially begins in Week 2 with the home opener at the all-new Highmark Stadium when the Buffalo Bills host the Detroit Lions on September 17.

“We are thrilled to kick off our fifth season of TNF with a terrific slate of games, starting with Detroit at Buffalo as the Bills open their new state-of-the-art stadium,” said Jay Marine, Head of Prime Video U.S., Global Sports and Advertising. “This year’s schedule is filled with outstanding matchups and the game’s biggest stars as we continue the momentum of last year’s record-setting TNF season.”

For 2026, Prime Video has several holiday showdowns, including Black Friday, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve, giving the schedule extra juice down the stretch. The award-winning Prime Vision with Next Gen Stats alternate broadcast returns, giving viewers an AI-enhanced live presentation for each week’s game. Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit are back on the main broadcast, with Kaylee Hartung on sideline duty and Charissa Thompson leading pregame, halftime, and postgame coverage. NFL vets Tony Gonzalez, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andrew Whitworth, and Richard Sherman, with interviews and feature stories from Taylor Rooks, round out the broadcast team.
