Prime Video Channels Will Cancel HBO Max Subscriptions on September 15: Here’s What to Do

After removing the HBO Max Prime Video Channel last month, Amazon is now notifying subscribers that their HBO Max subscription will be cancelled on September 15.

Amazon shared the news with subscribers in an email Friday, saying:

We’re writing to let you know that HBO has decided to leave Prime Video Channels. As a result, your HBO subscription will end on Sept. 15, 2021, at which time we will cancel your subscription and issue a pro-rated refund for any remaining service from your last billing cycle. No action is needed.

Fire TV users do still have access to HBO Max – the standalone app is available on Fire TV devices. Those who were subscribed to the streaming service through Amazon Prime Video Channels will now need to create a new subscription directly through the HBO Max app or through a third party service, like Hulu with Live TV.

HBO Max costs $9.99/month with ads or $14.99/month without ads. In addition to Fire TV, the app is available on Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, LG Smart TVs, Roku, Samsung Smart TVs, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, iOS and Android, and on the web.
