Prime Sports Launches New Features for NBA: Multiview, Live Stats & More

Amazon announced today new interactive and AI-powered features for the NBA on Prime, with an 11-year deal between the league and the streaming platform beginning this season.

The new features announced today include a fully customizable multiview feature, key moments, personalized sports betting tracking with FanDuel, rapid recap, live stats, and an interactive shopping experience.

“Since Day 1, we’ve challenged ourselves to invent features that heighten, customize and add storytelling elements for fans within the live sports experience,” said Jay Marine, Head of Prime Video U.S., Global Sports & Advertising. “As we tip off this long-term relationship with the NBA, we’re excited to launch a best-in-class bet tracking experience with FanDuel, as well as a wide-ranging suite of broadcast innovations to enhance Prime Video’s comprehensive NBA offerings. As we’ve demonstrated through our coverage of Thursday Night Football and NASCAR, our innovation teams are continuously raising the bar and exploring what is possible within our produced coverage and add-on subscriptions.”

Here’s more about each of the new features:

This season, the NBA on Prime will include a slate of exclusive regular season and post-season coverage. The new global rights deal begins next month and includes 67 regular-season games, including a new Black Friday doubleheader, all games from the Knockout Rounds of the Emirates NBA Cup (including Semifinals and Finals), and exclusive presentations of the NBA Berlin and London Games in January. Prime Video will also have every postseason SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament game, first and second-round playoff games, and Conference Finals in six of the next 11 years.

Coverage starts with a doubleheader featuring the Boston Celtics at New York Knicks at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by Minnesota Timberwolves at Los Angeles Lakers at 10:00 p.m. ET on October 24.
