Pluto TV’s Co-Founder Wants Giveaway Free TVs That Show Ads…

All day you see ads on TVs, but have you ever wondered if those ads could help you pay for your TV? Now Pluto TV’s co-founder Ilya Pozin is building a company that will make TVs free by bundling ads directly into the TV.

This idea is not new to Amazon, Roku, and others as they have for some time now sold devices at or below costs if you agree to let them show ads on their device. This new company called Teevee will give you the TV in exchange for showing ads on the TV, according to a report from Lowpass.

To do this, the Teevee TV will be an all-in-one device that will include a decently-sized TV, a soundbar, and a second smaller screen.

The second screen will be the real key point here. IT will be about the right of a phone and stretch across the width of the TV. This screen will show ads as you watch TV, allowing you to enjoy the TV for free, thanks to the ads playing on the second screen.

Not only will the second screen show ads, but you will also see local weather, news, sports scores, and more, much like the tickers at the bottom of ESPN.

Teevee was founded in 2021 in Califonia. Very little is known about the project, and their website just says “Before has never been so jealous of after. Coming later this year.”

Roku reportedly makes about $40 per year per user from its ads and subscriptions. IF Teevee is able to show even more ads thanks to the second screen, it is very possible it can drive that rate up even more. It is reported that a 4K TV will reportedly last ten years. So that is a lot of time for Teevee to be able to show you ads in your living room.

Would you accept a free TV if it came with a second screen to show ads? Leave us a comment and let us know.
