Pluto TV Is the Best Free Streaming Service Beating Out The Roku Channel, Locast, & More (Cordie Awards 2019)

2019 saw the rise competition among several free streaming services in the world of cord cutting. Early in the year we saw Viacom purchase Pluto TV. We also saw new services like STIRR shake up cord cutting. This leaves the question: What service is the best free streaming service?

Instead of trying to answer that question ourselves, we asked you, the readers. So, here is the best free streaming service according to Cord Cutters News readers as part of our 2019 Cordie Awards for the best cord cutting devices and services.

In Fourth Place: Tubi

Tubi was one of the first successful free streaming services. Now with 7% of the vote, Tubi is the fourth best free streaming service according to our readers.

In Third Place: Amazon’s IMDb TV

Early this year Amazon launched IMDb TV, a free ad-supported streaming service. The service comes preinstalled on Fire TVs and is also available through the Amazon Prime app on Roku players and Roku TVs. Now with 7.1% of the vote, Amazon’s IMDb TV is the third best streaming service according to our readers.

In Second Place: The Roku Channel

The Roku Channel has seen great success. Roku has slowly been expanding the service in 2019 with a new kids’ area and additional features. Now with 14.7% of the vote, The Roku Channel is the second best free streaming service according to our readers.

In First Place: Pluto TV

With a shockingly high 50.6% of the vote, Pluto TV was the best free streaming service according to our readers. Since Viacom purchased Pluto TV in early 2019, they have slowly been adding new content. Now you can find content from over 100 partners with only one of them being Viacom. With CBS and Viacom merging, the question is what CBS content will we find on Pluto TV in the future.
