Pluto TV Adds a Search Feature

Free streaming service Pluto TV has started to roll out a search feature. This has been a highly requested feature by Pluto TV viewers and will be a welcome addition, making Pluto’s content library and channel guide easier to navigate.

This is the first feature we’ve seen added after Pluto TV sent out a survey to select users, asking for opinions of potential features and content for the free service. The survey asked about changes users would like to see and, along with a search bar, options included a longer daily guide, a less confusing guide, less buffering, the option to tag favorites to create a watchlist, the option to quickly flip back to the last channel watches, a personalized channel list, and a DVR. Surveys like this are often sent out just to gauge user interest but aren’t a guarantee that any changes will be implemented. That said, we’re happy to see that Pluto added one of the most simple but most useful features from the list.

The search feature has been slowly rolling out across devices for a while and will continue to be added to more devices over the next couple months.

Pluto TV is a top free streaming service with over 43 million monthly active users globally. You can watch Pluto TV online, with a mobile app for Android and iOS, and on Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, PlayStation, TiVo, and on Hisense, Samsung, and Vizio Smart TVs.
