Pluto TV has expanded its free streaming lineup with the addition of five dedicated Star Trek channels, launching today in celebration of the premiere of the new series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy on Paramount+. The move provides fans with easy, no-cost access to a wide range of classic Star Trek series, framing the expansion as an invitation to “enroll” in Starfleet Academy through immersive viewing experiences.
The channels focus on highlighting career missions from notable Starfleet alumni, organizing content around iconic captains and their respective eras. A temporary pop-up category appears in the Pluto TV channel guide from January 15 through January 31, grouping all approved Star Trek programming together for convenient browsing. This limited-time feature encourages viewers to dive into the material during the launch window aligned with the new show’s debut.
The new Pluto TV channels include:
- A channel dedicated to Star Trek: The Original Series, centered on the adventures of James T. Kirk from the Class of 2254. This longstanding offering continues to deliver episodes of the foundational series that introduced the franchise’s core themes of exploration and discovery.
- A new channel for Star Trek: The Next Generation, spotlighting Jean-Luc Picard from the Class of 2327. This addition brings continuous streaming of the series that redefined Star Trek for a new generation, featuring advanced technology, philosophical dilemmas, and diplomatic challenges aboard the Enterprise-D.
- An existing channel for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, representing Benjamin Sisko from the Class of 2354. The programming explores complex station-based narratives, wartime conflicts, and character-driven stories set near a stable wormhole.
- A channel for Star Trek: Voyager, tied to Kathryn Janeway from the Class of 2354. Viewers can follow the long journey home through the Delta Quadrant, with episodes emphasizing resilience, alliances with new species, and moral decisions in uncharted space.
- A new limited-edition channel for Star Trek: Enterprise, focusing on Jonathan Archer from the Class of 2134 (noted as a pre-Federation graduate). This temporary addition runs only through January 31, after which Enterprise episodes will remain available on Pluto TV’s general Sci-Fi channel.
The pop-up category and the dedicated Enterprise channel will conclude after January 31, but the core lineup persists. Viewers can continue accessing Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Star Trek: Voyager within the broader Sci-Fi category alongside other genre content.
