With Amazon Channels and the new Roku Channel you can manage subscriptions to multiple services from a single account. In Amazon’s case, you can use your Amazon account to pay for and manage services like HBO NOW, Showtime, and CBS All Access. Roku offers a similar option to pay for a growing list of premium services with your Roku account.
No longer do you need to keep track of multiple logins and payment accounts. Many love this service because it removes the confusion of having multiple usernames, passwords, and bills.
Now Plex is announcing plans to move into this space letting you manage subscriptions to multiple services through Plex. No date was set, but this moves Plex one step closer to becoming a universal source of content rather than just a place to manage the media you home media server.
Other services have also launched this feature including Sling TV with more on the way. Many see finding a way to manage all of these services as the ultimate answer to the growing issues of people subscribing to multiple services.
No dates have been set for when the new ad-supported movie service and premium add-ons will launch.
