Plex On-Demand is Now Available on the Apple TV App

Last month, we reported that Plex was testing out its integration on the Apple TV app. Plex has now announced that its on-demand video library is now available on Apple TV.

With Plex, Apple TV users will have another great source for free content. Those using the Apple TV app or Siri can search for a title, and if the show or movie is available as part of the free Plex ad-supported video on-demand library, they can begin watching for free. Once a user begins watching a title, it will then appear in their “Up Next” section of the Apple TV app.

The Apple TV integration only includes Plex AVOD content and is only available in the US for now. As we speculated last month, the integration does not include a user’s personal media server content, live TV, or other Plex features.

So, what can you watch with Plex on-demand? The service has thousands of titles available. Choose from movies, shows, sports and music documentaries, Bollywood musicals, and more. Check out our list of new titles coming to Plex this month, or explore on your own by browsing by genre or taking a look at the Plex Picks category within the app. We recommend the 2003 movie “Monster” starring Charlize Theron, 2010’s “The Other Guys” if you’re looking for a laugh, and the “Pet Sematary” collection if you’re into classic supernatural horror.
